01/07/2005: "MSD distributor / MSD Elosztó"

I still have to get the majority of the parts for my new engine, but some them have arrived already. I've just got the billet MSD distributor (pn #8367) from Summit. There are different kinda opinions around this distrubtor in the SyTy community, but one thing for sure. It's looking way better than the stock piece, and I won't have problems with rusting either. As you can see on the below picture, there is a difference in the distributor shafts as well. The MSD unit has grooves for two o-rings to seal between the shaft and the block, while the stock unit has no such a feature. These o-rings help to increase the oil pressure, but I might have to chamfer the block in order to be able to install them properly. I don't want to do this, so if they will go in with lube only then I'll use them, otherwise not. Will see...

Bár a cuccok nagy része az új motorhoz még nem érkezett meg, azért néhány dolog már itt van. Megjött pl az új MSD distributor, amely szemben a fenti képen szintén látható gyári drabbal aluminium testtel rendelkezik. A vélemények errõl a disztributorral kapcsolatosan vegyesek SyTy körökben. Egy azonban biztos, a distributor egy ékszer benyomását kelti a gyárihoz hasonlitva és rozsdásodni sem fog, ami mindig is probléma volt korábban. A képen látni lehet, hogy az elosztó tengelye is más, fel van készitve két o-gyûrû fogadására. Ezen o-gyûrûk szerepe, hogy kicsit növeljék az olajnyomást. Azonban a használatukhoz elképzelhetõ, hogy le kell törni a blokk megfelelõ felületét. Ezt semmi képpen sem szeretném, igy ha bemegy a két o-gyûrû enélkül mefelelõ lubrikáció segitségével, akkor használni fogom õket, egyébként nem. Meglátjuk...
